Transportation at VP
Every Wednesday morning at 8 we rode, stopped for breakfast and returned home. We were usually back by 11. The terrain is flat but the wind was the challenge.

Border Patrol Tour @ McAllen, TX
The one statistic that stuck with me was that the weekend before we were there, the McAllen station had apprehended over 600 illegals and they were not all Mexicans. They catch people from all around the world, hold them for up to 48 hours and then send them back to their country of origin.

Don Wes Flea Market & Ropa Usada
Don Wes Flea Market was just outside the gate of Victoria Palms. I went several times. I got some parts I needed for my 5th wheel, a Mexican Train game, a dashboard holder for my GPS, and cheese. The cheese booth was my favorite spot. I think I must have some rat in me.
Ropa Usada = used clothes, 30 cents a pound. Climb to a place on the pile and start digging.
Victoria Palm took a bus load of guests on two occasions, the singles group went together once and the workampers went together twice. Everyone said you have to see it to believe it. I couldn’t go on any of these trips because I was working so I went by myself. It was a sight worth seeing and experiencing.
The advice is to take hand sanitizer, a large plastic bag and launder everything before trying it on. I bought a pullover, a shirt and a pair of black jeans for a total of $0.67. That’s right 67 cents.
As I was checking out a lady behind me said that a group from the park where she was came every Tuesday, spent one hour and then when to have breakfast together. Her bag looked more than half full.
